United Spanish War Veterans

Cemetery Commemorative Plaques & Flagholders

The United Spanish War Veterans society was a organization which was created in 1899 for veterans veterans of the Spanish–American War, Philippine–American War and China Relief Expedition to keep in touch with their former partners in arms.

Initially this organization was one of dozens of similar society and

fraternal organizations which were formed in the late 1890s, although over time these organizations merged with USWV making it the largest Spanish American War veterans organization. This organization was open to veterans that served 1898-1901 in the Caribbean, Philippines and China. The USWV existed until the death of it’s last member in 1992.
